Icub Baby Robot Scientists working with a 3ft humanoid baby robot called iCub that will learn to speak just like a real human.
Over the next few years robotics experts will work with language development specialists who research how parents teach children to speak. The Icub robot will also be taught how to hold objects and assess them. Typical experiments with the iCub robot will include playtime such as inserting objects of various shapes into the corresponding holes in a box, serializing nested cups and stacking wooden blocks.
The findings as they develop will lead to a robot someday that will think, learn and talk for itself. The Icub should be able to layout the foundations a fairly complex AI that will have unique thinking, behavioral and communications skills from individual learning experiences.

Wow. That is very interesting and also a little creepy! I wonder why every new technology has to be iSomething nowadays. Maybe Apple is planning to sue the robot makers... :-P
